Verona is an elegant city of love and opera, with more than 2000 years of history, full of attractions, Roman ruins, Renaissance palaces and churche. Its historic center, built in a bend in the Adige river, dates back to medieval times. Verona is known for being the city of Romeo and Juliet, the characters of Shakespeare's work, and not surprisingly it houses a 16th century building called "Juliet's house", with a delightful balcony overlooking a courtyard. The Arena di Verona, a large first-century Roman amphitheater, hosts concerts and operas.
